Volunteers
Our volunteers are an integral part of the Cancer Council’s Relay For Life. All Relay For Life events are organised by a volunteer Committee in the lead up to and at the event. We also require extra volunteers to help out on the day to support the committee and ensure the event runs smoothly.
Committees are resourced and authorised by Cancer Council to stage their event in line with the Relay Standards whilst enabling committees the opportunity to add their own local touch.
Committees generally comprise of people from a broad cross section of the local community including business, health, cancer survivors, sport, media, marketing, parents, service clubs and tertiary students. Committee members are officially registered with the Cancer Council’s Relay For Life and are afforded appropriate recognition and insurance coverage.
